Ready to Play?

The first Trondheim Playground starts in a few days... are you ready to play?
Trondheim Maker Faire

Torvet, Trondheim's market square, is usually a peaceful place to relax, or watch seagulls steal chips from unsuspecting tourists. But from 26-29 August, Torvet will be home to the very first Trondheim Playground.

A true grassroots initiative, Trondheim Playground is not owned by anyone. Instead it's an umbrella festival for anyone in Trondheim's technology and innovation communities that wants to host an event. So much of Trondheim's expertise in technology and innovation is hidden away behind the doors of NTNU or SINTEF, or inside the offices of companies like Nordic Semiconductor and ARM. Trondheim Playground wants to change all that by bringing amazing inventions and experiences into the public eye.

Highlight of the event will be the return of Trondheim Maker Faire, a festival of fun and creativity suitable for kids, big kids, and really big kids! Other events take place all around the city including DIGS coworking space (make sure to pop in to see the new-look cafe!), Byscenen, the conference centre at Sparebanken SMN, the Yahoo! office, and even a tour of Trondheim's startup communities.

Here at Technoport we're big supporters of the Playground initative, so much so that we have our very own stage on Kongens gate, just off Torvet. You are very welcome! The Technoport Maker Stage will play host to talks including:
