Technoport 2012 - Sharing Possibilities
Including RERC. The conference gathered 600 participants from 36 nations. Resulting in 29 Technoport Talks and 39 scientific papers.

Conference 2012

600 participants from 36 nations shared green technological possibilities at Technoport 2012- Sharing Possibilities, including the Renewable Energy Research Conference (RERC) 2012. Managing Director of Technoport Heidi Fossland ended the Technoport 2012 Sharing Possibilities conference by saying that “this is not really the end, but it’s the end of the beginning of sharing of new possibilities”.

The message from Technoport was clear at the final day of the conference:

  • The scientific voice has to be louder in the future
  • The dialogue between stakeholders must be even more efficient and understandable
  • Smart technologies and solutions must find faster ways to diffusion into the market by improved regulations and business opportunities. This is an important task for Governments preparing transition to a greener economy
  • The voice of the younger generation must be taken seriously, and included in dialogue and knowledge sharing

The Technoport 2012 conference marks the beginning of the creation of the Technoport knowledge sharing platform. “These three days of gathering have brought important contributions to the creation of the Technoport knowledge sharing platform on smart technology in transition to the green economy”, says Fossland.  “The results from these three days of knowledge sharing and discussions are many, and will be published on our webpage the coming three weeks”, Heidi Fossland informed the audience and listed the following output:

  • From the 13 scientific parallel research sessions we have research abstracts and published papers. The papers are available at Energy Procedia (Vol. 20, 2012)
  • From the Technoport Talks and from the key notes speeches held during the conference, we have filmed 29 Talks. They will be published on our webpage the following few weeks. Fossland hoped they will be shared among a broad audience and that they will create discussions and inspiration, and create new ideas enabling a transition to a greener economy.
  • 6 articles that sum up the research dissemination and the Technoport Summit discussions. With input from the latest research dissemination and inspiring talks three journalists from UK will sum up their impressions and conclusions in three articles after the conference. In addition three PhD students from NTNU will publish results from each of the panel debates.

In her concluding remarks Fossland underlined the purpose of the Technoport knowledge sharing platform. “It is to be an arena for sharing possibilities through research dissemination and the exchange of ideas among scientific leaders, industry leaders and leaders from the public sector through inspiring Technoport Talks and from students through their projects exhibition”, she said.

Technoport will bring conclusions from the conference forward to the Technoport members and collaborating partners, the Norwegian Government, the Nordic Council as well as to the UN conference in Rio in June. Technoport invites everyone attending the gathering to join the sharing, and make the Talks and the conclusions from the conference known to their network.
