On the evening of the 17. April Technoport paid tribute to three winners of the Technoport Awards 2013. An distinguished professor, a fast growing corporation and a group of extremely promising students took home an award each.
This is the 9th time we present these awards and we do this to celebrate the people behind new innovations and technology that brings us closer to a green economy» says Erling Hess Johnsen from Technoport.
The day started with an exhibition of 42 student projects from the Technoport Students – Powering the green Transition. Here close to 300 students showed their work from interdisciplinary group projects. This winter they have been doing their part in solving global challenges. Technoport Students is a part of the master level program «Experts in Team» at NTNU and done with the support from the county municipality of Sør-Trøndelag. At the Award show the winner team «Waste Heat Power Generation» took home a 50 000 NOK Travel grant.
In the Technoport Applied Technology Award professor Emeritus Olav Erga won for his work on regenerative SO2 absorption process.
Professor Erga has shown that through life long commitment and an excellent scientific mind a person can make a difference.

Powel AS received the Technoport Award for innovative environmental technology. Powel provides software solutions to the energy sector. The company started as a spin of from SINTEF in 1996 and has now grown to an international corporation with 240 employees.
